A taste of authentic New York City pizza in Tulsa, Oklahoma

NYC Pizza

Sometimes really good pizza is hard to find anywhere… Tulsa is no exception.

In January I found a great place owned by a former ‘New Yawka’ named Kenny. Kenny has been in Tulsa for over 28 years. He’s worked for companies such as American Airlines and Sky Chef. He opened a great Pizza place called ‘NYC Pizza’ and let me say that I am glad he did. Great toppings, great ingredients and authentic New York City Pizza is what you’ll find at ‘NYC Pizza’ — and you’ll find Kenny, his brother and son making all of it fresh everyday!

Please, if you seriously enjoy conveyor belt pizza, do not visit NYC Pizza… but if you like large slices of pizza, with fresh mozzarella from Jersey, sausage from Chicago, and attitudes from New York… [except they’re not rude!] - Then pay NYC Pizza a visit soon.

Ohh and they make sausage and pepperoni rolls - and calzones!

Please tell them that you heard about them from ‘Vinnie at TulsaTonight.com’ and they probably won’t break your legs!

NYC Pizza is located at 4775 S Harvard - Suite A in Tulsa, OK
Phone: 779-7760

    Vinnie,

I took your advice and had a slice of Sicilian at NYC Pizza two days ago. The pizza reminded me of Ray’s Pizza - A place I ate it when I visited New York’s Greenwich Village last year. Great pizza and friendly people!

I am trying Napoli’s in BA next and I just read about Duffy’s change of menu on this site and I’m and headed there soon as well.

Thanks for letting all of us know about the “lesser know” Tulsa area restaurants!

    Elaine!

I know Ray’s Pizza very well… In fact I went to school just a few subway stops away from Ray’s and spent many lunches there usually at noon (which made the lines that much longer! :)

I never thought this site would pick up steam and comments as fast as it has but I am glad that what Byron and I are doing, is making an impact here in Tulsa.

    All the best,

    Vinnie

Seems like NYC Pizza is an idea whose time has come. My husband and I are also native born “New Yawkas” who recently discovered that New York pizza is as close as 51st and Harvard. A visit uses much less gas then driving to NYC or even Brooklyn.

The best news is that the family that owns the restaurant, the Lehmans’, have just put up a brand new web site. This is their web address:
http://www.tulsa-nyc-pizza.com/ You can get there easily by using their turn-by-turn gadget; just type in your location and you’ll get exact directions to the store from anywhere. Neat! Oh, remember to take home some Cannelloni and Calzone.

If the truth is to be told NYC Pizza is by far the best pizza west of the East River in New York.

OK, that is my 2 cents worth ;)

NYC Pizza is the best!!! Perfect, thin crust, the right amount of oil and oregano.delicious!I wish they would have an East Coast night and can meet up with all you pizanos. The Pizza is the best but I also go for the entertainment. Just listening to the conversations makes me laugh! Who got killed,….how the stocks are doings. I love to hear them talk.
